Mothers Day cake

The second cake was for Mothers day 2009. I had recently attended a one day modelling course in Swindon with Ann Pickard - what a fabulous tutor she is. If you get the chance to attend one of her classes, I would definately recomend it. She is back in Swindon on Aug 16th 2009

Our final model of the day was a lady sat in an armchair. My lady was knitting and I decided to use it as a topper for my Mum's mothers day cake. It was an 10" madeira sponge cake (recipe from the Ann pickard books). Finish was not great and I do not think I kneaded the icing enough to make it pliable but we live and learn.
